Three days in Vegas for two people who want to do it right — a real spa day, one exceptional dinner at a restaurant you have to plan for, a show that's actually worth the ticket price, and the Strip done at a pace that lets you enjoy it. This is not the "$500-per-night Bellagio suite" version unless you want it to be — it's the version that hits all the luxury notes without requiring a finance background.
Choose your hotel deliberately. The Cosmopolitan and Aria punch above their price points for couples. The Wynn and Encore are consistently excellent across the board. The Bellagio trades on its name more than its current rooms. Park MGM is underrated and quieter. Skip the newer-but-cheaper properties unless you're treating Vegas as pure entertainment and not an experience.
The best steakhouse in Las Vegas and one of the best in the country. José Andrés applies Spanish molecular gastronomy technique to American beef — the liquid nitrogen caipirinha tableside, the Cotton Candy foie gras, and the whole roasted suckling pig are worth the price of admission. Plan for $150–200 per person with drinks. Reservations open 60 days out and should be made the moment they do.
The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art rotates major exhibitions from museum collections worldwide — past shows have included Picasso, Monet, and Fabergé. It's small (about 45 minutes), well-curated, and a quiet contrast to the casino floor chaos outside. Tickets are $20–25 per person. Check the current exhibition before you go.
The Cosmopolitan hits the right notes for couples: visually stunning, great pool, exceptional restaurant selection on-property, and rooms that are above average for Strip hotels. The City Corner suites have floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides. Book 6–8 weeks out for decent rates.
A proper Vegas spa day is one of the city's underrated pleasures. The Wynn and Encore spa and the Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars are the top tier. Spend the afternoon at the pool. See a show tonight.
The Wynn spa is consistently rated the best on the Strip — 45 treatment rooms, full thermal circuit (steam, sauna, cold plunge, whirlpool), and salon services. The couples massage packages start around $360 total and include full facility access. Book 2–3 weeks in advance for weekend availability.
Absinthe is the best show in Las Vegas for couples looking for something that isn't a Broadway tour or a Vegas magic act. It's a cirque/burlesque/comedy hybrid in a small spiegeltent outside Caesars — the proximity to the performers is part of the experience. The host "Gazillionaire" is legitimately funny. Book well in advance — it sells out months ahead.
Last morning in Vegas. Eat properly before you leave. If your flight is late, the Arts District is worth a walk.
Wicked Spoon is the best buffet in Las Vegas — which means it's actually worth doing. Individual portions instead of serving dishes, excellent quality across pastries, egg station, charcuterie, and desserts. No towering piles of mystery protein. Reservations available, walk-in is usually fine before noon.
The Las Vegas Arts District is about 2 miles from the Strip — a walkable grid of independent galleries, vintage shops, boutique coffee, and murals. First Fridays (the monthly art walk) is the peak experience, but the district is worth an hour any afternoon. It's the part of Vegas that locals actually live in.
