1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Wikitinerary (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email or in-app notice before the change takes effect.
A complete history of prior versions is linked above. We preserve each version indefinitely so that the exact terms in effect on any given date remain accessible.
2. Description of Service
Wikitinerary is a travel planning platform that provides curated destination guides and itineraries (“Content”). The Service includes free features available to all registered users (“Wanderer” tier) and premium features available to paid subscribers (“Voyager” tier). We are currently in public beta; features may change or be removed without notice during this period.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period after reasonable notice.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid Voyager subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor (currently Stripe). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing cycle. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and no partial refunds are issued for unused time.
Charter member pricing is a special introductory rate locked in for subscribers who join during the designated charter period. This rate is guaranteed for as long as the subscription remains continuously active. If a charter subscription lapses, it re-enrolls at the then-current standard rate.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing for new subscribers at any time. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days’ notice before any price change applies to their account, except as noted above for charter members.
5. Affiliate Links and Advertising
Some itinerary blocks contain affiliate links to third-party booking platforms (such as Viator). If you click these links and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence which destinations or activities we feature or how we rank them.
The Service may display advertising. We do not endorse third-party advertisers or guarantee the accuracy of their content.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
All destination guides, itineraries, and editorial content on the Service are owned by Wikitinerary or licensed to us and are protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our Content without written permission, except that you may print or download Content for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning use.
By submitting any content to the Service (including trip notes, comments, or feedback), you grant Wikitinerary a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and improving the Service.
Community comments
Registered users may post comments on itinerary blocks. By posting a comment you represent that it is accurate, respectful, and relevant to the travel content. Comments must not contain:
- Harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, or threatening language
- Spam, promotional content, or links unrelated to the destination
- Private information about other individuals without their consent
- Content that is illegal, defamatory, or sexually explicit
- Off-topic content unrelated to travel or the specific itinerary block
We use automated tools, including AI-assisted review, to evaluate comments before they are published. Comments that violate these guidelines may be blocked or removed without notice. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly submit policy-violating content.
7. Content Accuracy and Community Contributions
The accuracy of information provided on Wikitinerary is not guaranteed. Content is compiled from a variety of sources, including editorial research, member contributions, business owner submissions, and sponsor-provided materials. Individual items may reflect the perspective or information available at the time of contribution and may not have been independently verified.
Travel conditions change frequently — prices, hours of operation, amenities, visa requirements, and safety conditions can change without notice. You are solely responsible for verifying details before travel and for your own safety and decisions while traveling.
Community improvement tools
Registered members have access to tools designed to help keep content accurate and useful for everyone, including:
- Reporting content that appears outdated, permanently closed, or otherwise inaccurate
- Reporting content that is inappropriate or violates community guidelines
- Submitting ratings and reviews for individual itinerary blocks
- Suggesting updates to details such as hours of operation, amenities, budget ranges, and categories
Any registered member may use these features. Contributions are reviewed and may be incorporated at our discretion. We are not obligated to act on every submission, but community feedback is an important part of how Wikitinerary improves over time — both for individual members and for the community as a whole.
We are not a licensed travel agency. Nothing on the Service constitutes professional travel advice.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download Content without written permission
- Attempt to access systems or accounts that are not yours
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without authorization
- Submit false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Interfere with the performance or security of the Service
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and booking affiliate networks. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WIKITINERARY AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, unless both parties agree otherwise. Class action lawsuits and class-wide arbitration are waived. This waiver does not apply in jurisdictions where such waivers are not enforceable.
