Two days for adults who want the complete Cedar Point experience plus time on the lake — a full day of coasters followed by a morning on Kelleys Island and the evening craft brewery scene in downtown Sandusky. Firelands Winery is 30 minutes south if you want to extend into the Lake Erie Wine Country.
Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Millennium Force, Gatekeeper, Magnum XL-200 (original hypercoaster, still excellent), and Valravn (dive coaster, best front-row experience in the park after Steel Vengeance). Eat at Famous Dave's in the park mid-afternoon when the coaster crowds are at their worst. End the day at the Hotel Breakers lakefront bar for the Cedar Point sunset.
Downtown Sandusky has a small but legitimate craft brewery scene concentrated on Columbus Avenue. Angry Trout Brewery is the best — a craft brewery in a renovated 1870s building with an excellent IPA lineup and the best fish fry on Friday nights. Firelands Brewing is the larger option with a broader food menu. Both are within a 10-minute walk of the marina.
Kelleys Island for adults: the Glacial Grooves (genuinely impressive geology, free), the North Shore Alvar (rare globally threatened ecosystem along the lake shoreline), and the East Quarry Trail through the interior. Rent bikes from the island rental shop near the ferry dock. The Kelleys Island Wine Company has a tasting room. Ferry from Marblehead (20 min, $15 round-trip). Back on the mainland by 1pm.
